Leaning Into Human Design

Shavon is the owner of The Healing Lounge where she provides mental health services to women in Minnesota and Texas and incorporates human design principles into her therapy sessions.

We discuss how human design is becoming increasingly popular and what it is like to embody your design, not just understand it on an intellectual level.

Understanding the Part of Human Design in Personal Relationships

Shavon and I also stress the impact of human design on personal relationships, especially in mother-child dynamics. Shavon shares her own story with her son and understanding that he had a defined root center helped her relate better to him, creating more understanding and compassion in their relationship.

The Integration and Embodiment of Human Design

Shavon and I talk about how to embody your human design by applying it, retreating, reapplying, and eventually reaching a true embodiment of one’s design. This ongoing process of integration requires a lot of patience and gentle self-compassion.

Shavon further emphasizes how crucial it is to pay attention to one’s bodily responses, and to start understanding the language of the ‘sacred voice’, our body’s authentic response to varying experiences. This is where somatic practices come in handy, such as consciously paying attention to how we feel or where we’re holding tension in our bodies.

Trusting Yourself: The Ultimate Gift of Human Design

As with everything I teach, my desire and intention for each of you is for you to know that you are the expert for your body. Trust yourself. You can’t compare your journey to anyone else’s and the more that you lean into your sacral knowing, you honor it and are guided by it, the more your life will flow more effort-less-ly. The self-trust cultivated through understanding and embodying human design allows one to create a life that feels authentically satisfying and fulfilling.
