The Key to Manifesting Your Heart’s Desire

Table of Contents

Recently, a friend asked me how to become unattached to something they truly desire (the heart’s desire). It’s a common question, and one that I struggled with for a long time. People talk about detachment, but they don’t always delve into the why and how behind it. So, I offered my friend a simple answer: trust.

Listen in on the podcast below and keep reading to learn more.

The Muscle of Trust: From Detachment to Freedom

Building trust is like flexing a muscle. It takes time and practice. For years, I had evidence that led me to distrust. I believed I had to shoulder all the burdens myself, ignorant of the fact that I was actually co-creating with the universe. If you grew up in a similar situation, where you were discouraged from asking for what you truly desired, or if you developed a mindset of doubt due to past disappointments, it’s understandable that your trust muscle may be underdeveloped.

The simple answer is to trust.

Overcoming Trust Deficits: The Journey from Self-Doubt to Goal Realization

Perhaps you’ve stopped working towards your heart’s desires altogether, thinking, “What’s the point?” I used to be in the same boat. Many people talk about setting goals without showing you how to achieve them. Ultimately, what we’re really chasing is a feeling. Most of the time when we are going after our goals, we want to feel accomplished, fulfilled or even gratitude for having accomplished the goal.  And, we can feel whatever feeling we want to feel NOW.

If you find yourself clinging tightly to your goals, it’s okay. This is not a place for self-judgment. It’s possible that deep down, you simply don’t trust that it’s already done. When I say “done,” I mean that whatever you heart desires has already been given to you and is on its way. Maybe you rely on the attainment of your goal to provide the desired feeling.

Living in the Unknown: Mastering Trust Before Attainment

But here’s the thing: we can generate those feelings without relying on external circumstances. I discussed this on episode 15 of my podcast as well. It’s about living in the unknown and accessing those emotions independent of the specific outcome. Additionally, you may hold the belief that you’ll believe it once you have it. However, the truth is, we must believe first in order to manifest our heart’s desires.

So, how can you develop trust? It’s a matter of discipline and choice. Choose to focus more on trusting rather than doubting. Seek out even the smallest pieces of evidence and concentrate on those. Start with simple, small steps. And take a moment to reflect on what you gain from not trusting. There’s usually a deep-seated reason AND feeling behind this pattern, often tied to our ego.

Do you ever feel like you’re holding yourself back, but you’re not sure why? It’s not intentional, it’s just your ego trying to keep you safe. Our brains have a way of protecting us from disappointment, which can make it hard to trust and go after our goals.

The Power of Failure: Embracing Growth Opportunities for Your Heart’s Desires

We have been conditioned to view failure as a negative outcome, something “bad”. Yet, the road to achieving our aspirations often involves failing repeatedly until we attain our desired success. Success and failure are inseparable; the latter is not an endpoint but a stepping stone for growth and learning. It’s time we shifted our mindset, recognizing failure not as a setback but as an integral part of the journey to success.

If you find yourself struggling to trust or let go of limiting beliefs, it’s important to uncover the reason behind it. There’s a feeling underneath that needs to be acknowledged and released. It served its purpose, but now it’s time to move on.

Think of your beliefs as suitcases. Some of them feel good to carry, but others are just holding you back. It’s time to let go of the baggage that’s weighing you down.

Trusting the Process: A Gradual Shift Towards Unleashing Your Power

When it comes to setting goals, clarity is key. You need to know exactly what you want and why you want it. Be specific and ask for what you truly desire from your heart, not from your ego. It’s okay to want something just because you want it. It doesn’t need a reason or justification.

And remember, the how and when are up to the universe. Be open to unexpected possibilities and trust that it will come in the right time and in the best way possible. Let go of attachment to timelines and outcomes, and instead focus on enjoying the journey and being grateful for what’s to come.

It’s not always easy, but it’s worth the effort. So embrace failure, let go of limiting beliefs, and trust in the process. You have the power to manifest your dreams and create a life you love.

Remember, learning to trust is a process. It’s not about forcing yourself to trust overnight. It’s about cultivating that belief and choosing to shift your focus towards trust. So, start small, gather evidence, and let go of attachments. Trust in the co-creation between yourself and the universe. And most importantly, trust in your own power to generate a life well-lived.
